Dunworley Bay sits on a rugged and enchanting stretch of Atlantic coast known as the Seven Heads. So if you love long, beautiful walks along headlands, exploring ring forts and watch towers or climbing along rocky coastline discovering untouched coves and beaches- this is heaven!
The areas offers a range of activities from cycling, to riding and all kinds of water sports. We love surfing, kayaking, rock jumping, swimming and body-boarding at Dunworley Beach- all year round if you’re brave!
The sands are washed clean by the lovely unpolluted sea every day, the air is fresh, and we get no light pollution… so you can enjoy undisturbed views of the incredible canopy of stars on night time wanders.
Clean, unpolluted sea & air means on clear, dark nights in July, August & September, bioluminescent plankton light up the waves like bursts of fireworks. Phosphorescence!
Friends you might meet along your way include seals, dolphins, porpoises, basking sharks and sometimes even whales!

West Cork is renowned for its artisan food and there are scores of fantastic, award winning, restaurants nearby, some of the best of them are within a 10-20 minute drive. We have four Michellin starred restaurants in Cork county!
We are within easy reach of many of Cork’s famed golf courses such as the internationally renowned ‘Old Head of Kinsale’.
Check out nearby Kinsale or Glandore for sailing, or Courtmacsherry for deep-sea fishing and whale watching trips.
The lovely Blarney castle is only an hour away, where you can kiss the stone and be blessed with the gift of the gab, or just wander in the beautiful grounds and have tea in the cafe.
Ancient Drombeg stone circle (3000 BC.) is 45 minutes away, pre-dating Stonehenge it’s well worth checking out!
For anyone with an interest in gardening, Bantry House and Gardens and Garnish Island (designed by Richard’s Great Uncle) are beautifully landscaped and not to be missed.
